Artistic Directed by Ryan E. Drew, Tuning in to Nature is a musical trail walk event that combines sounds from the symphonic concert hall with eclectic world music, Indigenous music traditions, and the unpredictable beauty of the outdoors. Merging the sit-down-and-listen concert experience with a nature hike, musicians respond to their surroundings through real-time improvisation and performance of compositions inspired by the natural environment. The result is a cohesive soundscape unique to each individual experience. Attendees are treated to captivating live music, while, at the same time, engaging with important themes of sustainability, climate change, Indigeneity, and settler heritage.
